The roof of Taylor Road School collapsed and currently it is being inspected every two weeks by a Structural Engineer.

The Leicester Education Authority has agreed to open the New Taylor Road School by 2008 but due to density of the population in St. Matthews Estate, the residents are demanding a bigger school to accommodate more pupils to avoid being split between other schools that was not welcome.

A petition was run alongside this action and was handed over to your local councillors. "The school is very popular on the Estate and needs to be larger to cope with demand" said Cllr Mustafa Karim.
