The Saffron Lane Velodrome

Protesters fear the new homes on Saffron Lane will overlook their homes

Lib Dem Freemen Ward Councillor Dale Keeling spoke out at last nights Development Control Committee against plans for 250 homes at the Saffron Lane Velodrome site.

Protesters fear the new homes on Saffron Lane will overlook their homes, create traffic and parking problems and ruin the character of the area.

More than 150 letters of complaint were sent to the city council by local residents after Council planning officers said that the plans to build homes should be approved.

Cllr. Dale Keeling said, "The committee decided to delay the decision on the plans and conduct a site visit. I hope after their visit they will see for themselves the detrimental impact the development will have in the area."
