Mrs Baum, will be presented with the Citizen of the Month Award for November when she has tea with the Lord Mayor.

Lord Mayor, Cllr Gary G. Hunt will present Mrs Baum with her award when she joins him for tea at Leicester Town Hall on Wednesday 28th November.

Mrs Baum was nominated for the award by Lib Dem Freemen Councillor Dale Keeling. The award recognises her work organising the Linwood Luncheon Club for pensioners on Saffron Lane Estate. She was also an active member of the Saffron Fete Committee and the Boot Houses Committee. Mrs Baum has continued her community work in addition to being the full-time carer for her adult son who suffered a stroke some years ago.

Cllr Gary G. Hunt said: "I am delighted to present this award to Margaret. She obviously cares about her local community very much, and makes time for community activities despite the full-time care she gives to her son. Margaret is a marvellous example of a very caring person, and I think it is important to recognise this dedication to the unsung heroes of our city".
