Local Western Park Lib Dem Councillors Roger Blackmore and Peter Coley have urged turning the former Western park Special School , now empty, into a new training centre for teachers and school governors.

Cllr. Roger Blackmore told the editor of this website; "The school site provides an ideal environment for such a training centre and we have been urging the idea for some two years now." Peter Coley confirmed that the two councillors had discussed the issue both with City Council officers and the Labour administration. " I really am hoping that this proposal will followed up" he added.
