Charity Fund-Raiser Thank You MessagePublished on Mon 15th Jun 2009
A fundraiser held at Leicester city based restaurant Zucchero, raised £800 for Special Olympics Leicester. The event, organised by Lib Dem Councillor Dale Keeling was attend by the Lord Mayor of Leicester, Roger Blackmore and included a great performance by the Lancaster Boys Choir. The staff at the restaurant supported the event by working for free, a fantastic contribution from everyone involved with the event. Games Director Steve Humphries said: ' I'm delighted that Dale's efforts to support the games have been duly rewarded with a fantastic fund raising total. Dale Keeling said, "Can I take this opportunity to thank all those who attended and made Sunday evenings Special Olympic Fund-raiser at Zucchero, Charles Street a success. Those include, 'In the Park', the Leicester Mercury, Leicester Tigers and County Cricket Club, DMU Leicester Riders, Kohinoor Radio, staff from the City Council and Lord Mayor and the stars of the event, Lancaster School Boys Choir, who continue to give fantastic performances and not forgetting staff at Zucchero who volunteered to work without fee for the evening.".
