Councillor Dale Keeling backs the local pensioners and signs the petition

Local pensioners have put together a petition to convince the Council to re-open its maintenance and repair depot on The Fairway, Saffron.

They say, that since its closing, the standard in the repairs service has dropped. local council tenants feel that after missed repair appointments, constant calls chasing repairs, many 'survey for material' appointments followed by no repair appointment, that now is the time to get the local depot re-opened and bring back the face to face contact with the tenant.

Local Lib Dem Councillor Dale Keeling is backing the pensioners, he said, "I have had many complaints about missed repair appointments, when residents phone the repairs department, they don't seem to know whats going on and many a time have the repaired marked as complete on their computer system. i get the impression that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing."
