Lord Mayor in SaffronPublished on Wed 30th Dec 2009
The Lord Mayor of Leicester with his Mayoress visited the Linwood Luncheon Club to have Christmas lunch. Cllr. Dale Keeling who invited the Mayor and Mayoress said, "It was great having the Mayor of Leicester have lunch with local Saffron pensioners." Local pensioner Mrs. Baum said, " It was a honour to have the Mayor at the Christmas lunch and it was very nice of him to take time out of his busy schedule to visit us in Saffron." Marriott Primary School choir sang carols at the event and local children from the Samworth Academy were at hand to help serve the lunch.
