The Eyres Monsell Fox

Fox

The city council has no policy on foxes and is unable to decide if they are vermin or not.

Eyres Monsell campaigner and dog owner Joan Garrity wants your views on the fox problem in Eyres Monsell.

Joan said, "Leicester City Council proposes to spend more money on litter and dog waste bins in our ward, about £7,500. To determine the siting of the bins they will "consult" members of the public who attend ward meetings. Compared to the number of residents in the wards, attendance at ward meetings is abysmal, so no real consultation then.

The main problem where I live in Eyres Monsell is foxes. There seems to be little dog mess around. The city council has no policy on foxes and is unable to decide if they are vermin or not. I have voiced my concerns about the number of foxes, the damage they do to our gardens, and the fox faeces and subsequent spread of disease to our ward meetings in the past. But nothing is done about this problem. I spend £37.00 annually on a dog vaccination so they do not spread disease.

I wonder if the newly appointed wardens are trained to tell the difference between dog, cat and fox faeces, and what they intend to do about this problem."
