Getting People's Views on the Doorstep

Troy Lavers the Lib Dem candidate for Castle Ward, has backed residents calls to stop the City Council giving any more licences for Queens Road.

Local residents feel that if this particular application for a bar is given the go ahead it could cause more instances of noise nuisance and anti-social behaviour in the Clarendon Park area.

Troy said, "We already have plenty of bars and other licensed premises on Queens Road, we really don't need anymore. I hope the Council for once, listen to what local residents want."

The application for the bar, on the corner of Cecilia Road, asks for it to be allowed to serve alcohol and play music until 11pm Monday to Thursday and midnight on Friday to Sunday. It's due to be heard by the City Council licensing Committee on Tuesday.
