Malcolm Bruce MP joins Pramjit Singh Gill in his campaign to save Leicester's Post Offices

Liberal Democrat Shadow Trade and Industry Secretary Malcolm Bruce MP visited Leicester today to support the campaign of Parmjit Singh Gill to become the next MP.

Mr Bruce and Cllr Gill visited East Park Road Sub Post Office, which is one of 24 which are being closed or under threat of closure locally. Mr Bruce said: "Sub Post Offices are a vital part of local communities. Under the Conservatives 4000 local post offices closed, and the closure of thousands more continues as a result of the policies of the Trade and Industry Secretary - Leicester MP Patricia Hewitt."

Parmjit Gill, who has organised a petition against the closure of Post offices, said: "The Leicester South by-election is a straight choice between supporting the closure of Post Offices by Labour and the Conservatives or backing a local Lib Dem who will serve the people of Leicester South by opposing these cuts."
