Stoneygate Lib Dem Cllr. Parmjit Singh Gill

Stoneygate Lib Dem Cllr. Parmjit Singh Gill will propose a motion at tonight's full City Council meeting attacking the government for the lack of investment in Leicester hospitals.

The motion will read;

This council strongly condemns the Government's recent decision not to proceed with the planned investment of nearly £800 million in the three Leicester hospitals. Council demands:-

1. an immediate enquiry by an appropriate body to take place without delay;

2. That the secretary of state for health gives an immediate undertaking to Leicester that the three hospitals will be comprehensively developed to bring them to an acceptable standard without further comprising the health care of the people of Leicester.

Ex-Lib Dem Council Leader Roger Blackmore will second the motion.
