Lancers welcomed home

Cllr. Roger Blackmore inspects the troops

The Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr. Roger Blackmore joined others to welcome home 160 soldiers of the 9th/12th Royal Lancers regiment today.

With many of the soldiers coming from Leicestershire, their friends and families joined the public which turned out in force to welcome home the regiment.

Cllr. Blackmore said, "The public fully support their armed forces and this parade gave us the chance to show our thanks and appreciation of the sacrifices they make on our behalf."
